研究談話会開催案内

インタラクションのデザインと評価専門研究会（SIG-DE）では、この度、アクセ
シビリティ専門研究会（SICACI）と合同にて、障がい者や高齢者支援など、ユー
ザ層とユーザ状況に制約のある場合におけるインタラクション研究における動機
付け、問題意識や課題設定についての議論を行う研究談話会を開催いたします。
議論における話題提供者として、以下の講師の方々に具体的な支援機器類の開発
や基盤要素技術の研究事例についてのご紹介をいただき、参加者の皆さんからの
質疑応答、その後、講師の方々も交えた全体討論の形式を予定しています。

SIG-DE/SIGACI合同研究談話会

[コーディネータからの開催趣旨についてのご案内]
インタラクションのデザインの観点から、障がい者支援や高齢者支援を目的とす
るインタラクション研究の領域を眺めてみると、大きな特徴があります。それ
は、これらのインタラクション手法やシステムが対象とするユーザ層には、ユー
ザ特性の点での制約条件が存在していることです。
このようなユーザ特性として制約条件が存在していること、また、その制約条件
に起因する種々の環境的、あるいは、社会的、さらには、法制的なものまでも含
めた考慮すべき点が多数あること、また、それら考慮すべき点には純粋に学問と
技術の領域だけでは取り扱えない状況があることも、研究を遂行する上で留意し
なければなりません。
しかしながら、このような制約条件そのものと、制約条件に起因する技術と学問
の外側にも広がる種々の状況を、どのように考慮しなければならないのか、どの
ように取り扱うべきなのかなどの議論が十分に行われているかは疑問がありま
す。あるいは、これらの制約条件や制約条件に起因する状況に向かうスタンスや
姿勢的なものは、多分に、ノウハウ的な、いわば口伝の範疇であり、学問の実施
手法として善く構築もなされていないものと考えています。このような問題意識
の下、今回の研究談話会を企画いたしました。
ユーザ層に制約条件が存在するインタラクション手法において、そのデザイン活
動の中には多数の制約があるにもかかわらず、その制約を意識しないままに継続
すると、結果的に、想定したユーザニーズに合わないもの、あるいは想定した
ユーザにとっては使いにくい、使えないものとなってしまうことがあります．
これらの難点を可能な限り軽減、解消するためには、特別な配慮を必要とする人
たちを対象とした支援機器の研究、開発などの領域における事例が、デザイン活
動の実際的な状況を認識する上で非常に役立つと考えます．
なお、特別な支援を必要とする人たちを対象とする領域は福祉工学とも呼ばれる
一つの大きな分野ともなっています．高齢者の人口が急激に増大する社会状況の
もとでは、従来のような平均的な人（平均的で均一的な特性を持つユーザ）を対
象としたデザイン活動に基づいたデザインでは当然のことながら、対応が難しい
ことがわかります．
特別な支援を必要とする人たちを対象としたデザインでは、ユーザ特性、状況的
要因などを注意深く分析し、これらの結果をデザインへ効果的に反映する必要が
あります．ここには、デザイナーの姿勢と心も重要となりますし、研究等の課題
設定を適切に行うためのスキルが他領域に増して重要です．
今回の談話会では、講演と参加者の間での率直な意見交換・議論を通して、ニー
ズをきちんとつかんで、本当に役立つものを作るために必要と考えられる福祉の
知識、福祉のマインドを知る、これらを意識するきっかけを作ることを目指して
います．
ご講演では、認知症、肢体不自由、視覚障害などの領域における機器開発、研究
開発の事例なとをお話しいただきます．これらの講演と議論を通して、制約があ
る中でのデザイン活動を考える機会としたいと思います．
